Project Summary
Miniland Greenhithe and Play’n’Learn partnered to design a special place for children with an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education. Blending Te Whaariki with the principles and values of the internationally acclaimed Reggio Emelia approach, to inspire tamariki to develop a lifelong love of learning.
Play’n’Learn’s brief was to develop interior environments, including learning rooms and teacher spaces, that felt like an extension to tamariki’s home. At Miniland, children are respected and nurtured in a warm, inviting environment with open spaces and natural surroundings. Play’n’Learn’s design team ensured that all materials and furniture at Miniland are naturally-inspired; in harmony with the local environment.
From early beginnings in 2019, to completion in June 2021, Miniland’s learning environments have been deliberately designed to deliver rich learning experiences. It is Miniland’s pledge that all tamariki discover, explore and to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators – healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.
Congratulations Lesley, Wendy and the Miniland team, it’s been a privilege to partner with you to design, manufacture, and fit-out learning environments that inspire tamariki, Kaiako, and whanau to develop a lifelong love of learning
